Entourage: American Apparel Haul

21.3.12

For the past few months American Apparel has been having an on-going warehouse sale in New York. It was a little crazy in the beginning but now that the hype has died down it's easier to shop until you drop. I stopped by just to see if I could pick up a pair of the high waisted blue chambray pants but ended up picking up a few other things. I really enjoyed the fit of the high waisted pants so I went ahead and picked up the striped ones too! Since Summer is almost here I decided I should pick up a bathing suit. All my bathing suits and bikinis are back at home in North Carolina. Haven't had them shipped and I don't know when I will get ahold of my stuff. I've always been obsessed with the 3D Mesh top and bottom so I had to get it because of the price. There were no more pink tops which made me kinda sad. But I'm hoping that next time I go there might be more available. I'm sure I can find another top to go with it so I'm not too worried.  I also fell in love with this head band. It was only a couple bucks and it reminded me of my traditional Hmong clothing. Best cop of the day was the leather pouch. I've been wanting an envelope clutch/pouch for the longest. I finally got this one. I really wanted the plain neon green pouch but it was defective. Total I spent $72.00  Pretty good steal!

Leather pouch for 25.00

High waisted pants both for $15 and 3D mesh bottom for $12
Headband for $5

Entourage: Abstract Eyes

7.10.11

Running out of ideas for your eye makeup? I sometimes do. This images are striking and of course seem difficult to achieve. But I think that it's the mistakes that show character. images via trendhunter

Entourage: Bohemian Mermaid Braid

18.8.11

Sometimes when I get lazy I resort to my french braid. Only because I don't know any other. My mom always braided my hair when I was younger so I never learned. Also I'm the only daughter in the family so I couldn't really practice. My barbie dolls only had french braids=( Trying to be optimistic I searched youtube for a quick tutorial. In this tutorial ahanhbarbie34 shows you how to create a bohemian mermaid braid. It's really easy to follow and it turned out great. I've conquered two braids. YAY!

Entourage: Dewy Skin

19.7.11

I've been busy packing because I'm moving into an apartment with a friend. I also started my internship as well. Both have been occupying the crap outta me so I do apologize. Anywho I came across this cool editorial that made me envious of the "dewy skin". I mean I already have an oily face so I guess naturally I am blessed with dewy skin. (HAHAHA) I always try to make sure I take care of my skin because I don't want to be a crusty old lady with nasty skin. It may build character but I still want to be beautiful. lol I've looked up multiple ways to achieve this look for photo shoots and such and I've gotten different responses. Some say PAM and then some say a mixture of baby oil and water. Any ideas? Let me know.

Entourage: King Midos + Touch of Gold

8.7.11

I grew up watching a television show called Wishbone. I remember one episode that told the tale of King Midos. To make things short everything that King Midos touched turned to gold. I've never been able to play with gold flakes before but after seeing all these images it's making me want to experiment. I was planning to do a beauty shoot soon just to showcase makeup in interesting ways. I guess I gotta hit the craft store.

Entourage: Long hair, don't care.

3.7.11

Short hair has been really trendy lately. But I've also noticed that long locks that appear as if you haven't bathed in a few days are sexy as well. I was always curious if people actually didn't wash their hair to give it that look. This look is great if you're having a bad hair day. I usually apply a small portion of hair mousse lightly through my hair. Tease lightly and then run my fingers through real quick.

Entourage: New Shoes, Woot Woot

25.5.11

After working at Aldo Accessories for a year I'm just now purchasing my first pair of shoes. LOL It's horrible I know. But I'm just too obsessed with accessories.

Also I just bought this handbag the other day.
Still haven't used her yet.

Entourage: Neon Pink + Yellow Nails

23.5.11

Decided to change up my nails. Haven't had the time to paint them in a few weeks. I added the Chanel hearts on my ring finger because I kept fidgeting. I had to reapply multiple coats over and over again. I gave up and ended up sticking the hearts all over the nail to cover up my imperfections=)

Entourage: Buzzzzzzz

6.5.11

On Cinco De Mayo I'm sure everyone was completely trashed. I was at home sipping on wine and cleaning my room. Too bad my room wasn't finished cause I decided to make a drastic change. I've been wanting to shave my head for a while but I could not let go of my long locks. I've been trying to grow them out so they'll cover my boobs. lol So to keep the best of both worlds I just decided to shave half my head. Thanks to Derrek Turner for doing the honors. Pretty daring, pretty risky, but life goes on.

My leg went MJ Thriller in last picture.

What da you think?

Entourage: She bangs, she bangs

14.4.11

Can Rila be any more beautiful?

I love her bangs. I wish I could pull this off. Maybe it's time for a new hair cut. Edgy!

Entourage: Shrooms

12.4.11

I'm a ring fanatic. Shrooms got me in a daze.
rofl.

I'm really into the big chunky, random, gaudy rings lately. Keep them coming.

Entourage: Neutral Love

21.3.11

I'm in love with the neutral shades. Especially with wedges, pumps, etc.
I can't stop drooling over these babies.

Aldo Shoes; Krone; $110

I like these gladiators but I'm afraid I'll get a bad tan line=(
Aldo Shoes; Greiner; $90

I don't know why I'm so in love with this color combination? Color blocking can be a hit or miss. But this time it's a hit!
Aldo Shoes; Streat; $110

Maybe I'll get them but unfortunately I don't have the money to. I need to be saving. lol
I can't stop this neutral love.

Entourage: Galactic Earrings

1.3.11

You know that item that you're always eye balling but never have the guts to buy? Even when you know you can afford it you always seem to keep turning it down. Well these earrings ( I call them galactic earrings cause they look like the galaxy) are one those babies. When they first came out I knew I wanted them. But I just kept turning them down primarily for the cost. Not a lot of people could really appreciate them because of how unique they looked. To me they were gold.

Entourage: Fresh Start

31.1.11

Lately I've been sportin' the simple natural look. I'm also ready to play with color since Spring is right around the corner. I love color but I also like to keep it natural so if someone sees me without my makeup they don't freak out.

Always use moisturizer before applying foundation. This helps with getting rid of the dry skin. I use Olay on my face but I'm also experimenting with other moisturizers just to see what works best for me. I stop using liquid foundation on my skin a few months ago. I didn't like the fact that it was clogging my pores. Now that I use powder foundation I've noticed that I break out a lot less that before.

I came across this Michelle Phan tutorial which I'm in love with. She's been one of my all time favorite youtube gurus. I've been following her since her xanga days. This look is all about keeping your makeup simple and clean. Great for an every day look. I only wear natural colors unless I'm going out.

Entourage: Dallas Blush Benefit Review

23.1.11

Now that Spring/Summer is almost here you might need to get some bronzer + blush. Wanna try something new?

After receiving freebies from the Benefit counter in Belk I fell in love. They're great because they look so natural. Every time I have Benefit Cosmetics on I get compliments=) It feels good to find a product that smells good and does it job at the same time. I'm slowly adding on to my collection. The other day I stopped by the counter and opted for some blush (I used all the blush in my sample kit). I wanted something a shade darker because Spring/Summer is coming soon and I wanted to define my cheekbones. I'm a little pale in the face so I wanted to add more color. Can't be walking around like a white ghost. HA HA

The woman at the counter, she's so nice, recommended the Dallas Blush. It worked beautifully. She also taught me how to apply it correctly. She swept the brush in a 3 motion starting from the temples, to the cheek, and then to jaw line. It was a great tip. She also said that if I ever needed any help with applying makeup I can see her any time. Which was awesome. The Benefit girls are so sweet.

The blush cost 28.00 but since I applied for the Belk credit card I got 15% off. I usually don't spend that much on blush but since I know the quality of it I was willing to spend more. Especially when you're using products on your face make sure they're quality products.

She also gave me a sample of another blush called thrrrob. It's a very light
pink but she said I could add it on the apples of my cheeks . This blush is great for an every day look while the Dallas is more for the dramatic girl.

Both of these blushes are great. You can also use the Dallas as a bronzer too! It's like a two in one deal. What I love about this brand is that I don't break out at all. The fact that it's so natural I find that it goes great with my bare minerals foundation. Go grab you some samples! Hope you guys enjoy this post and don't forget to check out my fb fan page for my OOTD!

Entourage: Stocking Stuffers for Christmas

13.12.10

For a while I wanted to share some of my accessories with you all. But I also wanted to share some great gift ideas for Christmas. So I figure we can put the two together. All from Aldo. (I work there so that's why I'm always wearing at least something from Aldo.) I'm sorry for the bad pictures of my fingers. They're chunky and a little red. Sorry=(

This bracelet is actually on sale. It's super cute because of the little charms. It comes with three bands so there is an option to take it off. This bracelet is really great for the eclectic fashionistas out there.

Porell; $11.98 (It's on sale.)

This heart ring is by far one of my favorite rings. I wear it a lot. It's a bigger ring than most would like but I'm dramatic so I really don't mind. This reminds me of video games my brothers play. I would recommend this for your little sister or a girl with a punky-tomboy style.

Forgot the name; $6.00

I love anything vintage so these are perfect for me! They're great for a classy outfit. There is also a ring that goes with these earrings too but I just forgot to buy it. I usually wear these earrings with something lace-y and feminine. But this is a great gift for your vintage loving friend.

Forgot the name; $6.00

This reminds me of the Baroque period. Black everything! What I love about these earrings are the fact that they can dress up your outfit easily. I usually wear my hair up when I'm wearing these just to show them off. HAHA. Great gift for your mom or vintage lover.

Forgot the name; $6 0r $12

I'm sprung. This ring is pretty cool. It's great for any finger. I'm lucky I can fit it on my ring and pointer finger. I love the texture of this ring. Comes in three colors. Fun for anyone who is into the multi-finger rings.

Forgot the name; $6.00 ?

Last earrings you have to love. They're pretty big too. This is great for the flirty girls! Reminds of the pin-up era. Very fun.

Forgot the name; $6.00

Good luck on Christmas shopping!

Entourage: Berrylicious Benefit

29.10.10

It is getting colder and I really wanted to try a new color. A couple weeks ago I was approached by a woman who worked at the Benefit counter at Belk. She asked me if I would like to try some samples and sign up for the credit card. Of course I did not get approved for the card but I got some free make up! I have been using some of their products for the past weeks and I really like them. They last long and show beautifully on the skin.

Don't be scared at trying bolder colors on your lips. Fall is all about dramatic looks. Dramatic doesn't always mean pounds of eyeshadow. Sometimes the subtle touches are what makes the look. I really wanted to have a smokey eye and bold lips so I went all out. I'm a little crazy.
I know.

In this look I am wearing Benefit's concealer in either light or medium. Forgot which one. The concealer does a great job in hiding my imperfections and blends easily with my foundation. On my lips I am wearing no competition heathered plum. I love this color! It's so beautiful and it feels so fall. Reminds me of berries! I'm also wearing Benefit's BADgal pencil to line my eyes. What I really like about their pencil liner is that it's easy to apply and very gentle on the skin. It doesn't hurt my skin which will most likely cause damage to my eye.

This is my first time using Benefit Cosmetics and I am glad I have gotten the chance to try some samples. One thing I love about this company is the branding and packaging. The woman at the Benefit counter said that their make up is meant for the every day woman. Which I can totally agree with. She said that their packaging has a vintage look but it doesn't mean that it's only for older woman. I happen to love their packaging that I was reluctant to throw anything away.
