PERSONAL: Back to Reality

7.5.12

Only God knows how long I've been away. It's been a pretty busy month for me. Plenty of ups and downs but in the end I made it through. The only way for me to really give you an idea of what's been happening is through photos. For the most part I tried documenting every thing so it would be easier than writing three to four paragraphs about every event and detail of my life. If you're following my tumblr, twitter, or instagram (zabbbeyyy) you'll get much more frequent images and updates of what I'm doing. My blog has always been a place where I share my life when it's most natural to me. I try not to force myself to write because it then feels like work all over again.

Hope you enjoyed all these pictures. I had a great time with my family and friends from back at home. I was really stressed and needed time away. Now that I'm back to NYC I'm ready to get back to reality.

Day 26: HLUB hittn' it in the Mornin'

26.2.11

I don't cook an extravagant breakfast very often so when I had the chance I was stoked. Most times I just grab a tangerine and head out but this was different type of morning. Or should I say moannnin'.

So I fried some bacon. Crispy! Then I scrambled some eggs. Buttered an english muffin and popped it in the oven for a few minutes until it was brown. I added spinach on the side for a small light salad. But I also put it on the english muffin too! Just garnished the plate with a few slices of my favorite tangerines.

Simple easy breakfast.

Day 25: HLUB Tilapia

25.2.11

I've been craving some fish lately. I didn't have the time to go fishing so I headed to Wally World for tilapia. Tilapia is pretty lean. Not knowing how to cook tilapia I googled some recipes. I found four really easy ones. Click here. I tried the lemon garlic recipe last night and it was great. I'm so ready to try the others.

Random ingredients. lol

I need a butter knife =/

Washing the fish.

Yay for flavor!

In the oven they go =) My glasses got foggy.

My friend Ivry recommended rice pilaf and green beans for sides. I opted for the rice pilaf. HMMMMMM

Smelled so goodddddd. HLUB the smell of this.

YUMMY The rice was perfect. Not too soft and not too hard.

Spinach for salad. Along with Pinot Grigio to "enhance" our taste buds. lol

As you can see the MacBook kept us company.

VOILA. MI AMOR. I plated of course. Like my asian plates?

Simply beautiful.

Close up on my dish.

He gave me an A.

This how happy we were. He is on the left and I'm on the right. MEOW!

Day 3: HLUB Burguishi

4.2.11

Sorry for the day late post. I had homework to do last night.

Of course this may seem stero-typical to say but I absolutely HLUB sushi! Now that I've been much more experienced in the taste of sushi I'm quick to judge on the quality. One of my really good friends is also a sushi chef. When we use to room with each other she would bring home sushi for us to try. OMG it was great. My friend Lisa works at eeZ Fusion & Sushi located in Huntersville, NC. She's been working there for a few years. They have the best sushi but I live so far away so I barely ever get to eat any good sushi.

Just a couple months ago they opened up their sister company called Cow Fish. Cow Fish specializes in "burguishi". Which is a combination of sushi and burgers. The food, service, and staff are awesome. Everything is carefully planned out. The space is modern, fresh, and sleek. Also if you really want to hear different quotes or words in a variety of Asian languages you can visit the bathroom for a bit. They will have you cracking up!

Anyways enough of the jibber jabber. Picture time!

Here I am chowing down on the crab rangoon dip. It's my favorite appetizer because the dip just melts in my mouth. Also the chips are drizzled with a sweet red sauce that add a little kick.

The appetizer on the right offers three different type of fries. Sweet potato, onion rings, and regular fries. I love the fact that everything is sliced thinly so that it tastes much better. It comes with three sauces. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Since I know the chef and I always have a hard time picking what to eat I always let him make me something special.

Some images I found on their website.
